Dolan Springs
 

Frequently called the gateway to Lake Mead, Dolan Springs, Arizona at an elevation of 3,350 feet, offers access to an estimated 1,000 miles of fresh water shoreline. An unincorporated desert community at the base of Mount Tipton, a 6,900-foot prominence in the Cerbat Mountains in west-central Mohave County, this rural area offers wide open spaces, beautiful scenery, and majestic mountains. High desert plants & vegetation are everywhere including tall Joshua trees.

The gently rolling hills, comfortable climate and low humidity offer very pleasant temperatures year round. This mild healthful climate has been sought out by those suffering from health conditions such as arthritis, asthma, respiratory & sinus conditions.

Smog and fog are strangers in this land of clear blue skies. At night you can see the red glow of Las Vegas in the western sky. Millions of bright stars light up the evening sky and frequently you can easily see the milky way.

The Pierce Ferry Road is the area's main road going from Highway 93 right through Dolan Springs to Lake Mead. If you enjoy water recreation, this is a great place to live and play. There is great fishing for bass, catfish, and trout, boating, and other forms of water recreation.

One of the world’s largest Joshua Tree Forests with mature Joshua trees over 20' high is located in the Dolan Springs area. This is one of the largest & densest Joshua Tree Forest's anywhere and the scenery all around is breathtaking.

The sunsets and sunrises turn the sky brilliant red and orange. The scenery is spectacular with colorful mountains all around. The Cerbat Mountain Range can be seen in the East, Table Mountain in the North and the Black Mountains to the South.

It's a great place to live, and more people are finding this area the ideal place to retire, raise a family, have a small ranch, get out of the big city, and enjoy the southwest relaxed style of living. As of the 2010 census the population was 2,033 for Dolan Springs. With the setting of the sun the mountains change colors, where you can sit on the porch and enjoy the beauty.
